Iran industry minister: 30% of educated women are unemployed
Mohammad Reza Ne’matzadeh, minister of industry, mines andTRADE in Iran said unemployment numbers for women is twice that of the country’s average.
“Only 12% of the country’s 23 million active population are women; 30% of educated women are unemployed, and this is three times the country’s average,” he said, whereas he himself said over 60% of those entering colleges and universities are women.
“More women are graduating from high schools and colleges, yet the grounds to recruit and allow them show their creativity have not developed because this is more difficult and moreEXPENSIVE than providing education,” he added.
The Iran Statistics Center recently published numbers related to the period of December 2014 to March 20 15 showing over 40% of young women in 20 provinces are unemployed.
